Salmon Hatchery Visit

This coming weekend is the 39th Annual Issaquah Salmon Days Festival. Its a very fun filled weekend with a grand parade, food booths, arts and crafts, live entertainment, and activities for the kids too. We are actually going this weekend (like every year) with the Harris grandparents and the Bolstad grandparents, but now we can skip the salmon viewing madness. Anyway, for the last 4 years of living here, we always forget to take the girls to see the salmon at the hatchery before the actual big weekend. This weekend, we finally remembered to go beforehand thanks to Eric! It was a perfect time to visit and perfect weather too. The girls really enjoyed it, but Alyssa was a bit scared of the big salmon. She kept saying, "Come mom, come" (loosely translated means--save me!). Here are some pics from our visit.

The girls watching the salmon try to make it upstream.

"See the fish Alyssa!"

Look at all the salmon--apparently a larger than normal Coho run this year.

Watching the HUGE salmon climb the ladder through the glass windows. Wow, they had some big ol' teeth on them!

After watching the salmon, Mom had fun taking pictures of her girls in the grasses/trees there. Did I say I love fall?!

Madison--8 years old and all about style!

Katelyn--6 years old and all about cuteness!

Alyssa (left) and Audrey (right)--2.5 years old and all about INDEPENDANCE!
