Independance Day Family Camp

This year we started a new tradition and took part in "Independence Day Family Camp" at Camp of the Cascades (a Covenant Camp) up near Yelm WA for the 4th of July holiday. We stayed there 5 days in our in-laws tent trailer and had a great time full of lots of activities and wonderful memories. The first 2 days were rough with Alyssa and Audrey (due to lack of sleep), but they finally got into the swing of things by the middle of it.

The first night...finally tuckered out!

Sweet dreams Madison and Katelyn

HORSE RIDING
Everyday during the camp, they had pony rides for the kids. Of course, we had to go! Alyssa and Audrey even loved riding the ponies, and by the 3rd day Alyssa would wake up in the morning and say, "Me wanna ride horsie."

MY BRAVE GIRLS!
On the second day we were there, Madison and Katelyn wanted to participate in the water activities. We spent lots of time at the lake.

Katelyn getting ready to go down the huge and very bumpy waterslide. I couldn't believe she wanted to go down this because it gives you quite a sore back due to the bumps.

And...she is off! She liked it so much she wanted to go again!!!

Madison getting ready to be "blobbed!" She jumped from a suspended dock onto this thing they call the "blob". Then, another person jumps from the dock onto this to shoot her up in the air.

Check out that air!

I love you Audrey!

Half the family...plus our dog Rosco.

Katelyn and Alyssa enjoying the water.

We learned that Alyssa is quite a fish. She always wanted to be in the water and would have a big ol' fit when we told her it was time to go. Here she is trying to figure out just how do you swim. She thought you crawled along the bottom of the lake.
