The Girls Enjoying Summer in our Backyard

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day after a few days of gray clouds, a day of rain and chillier temperatures. The girls played outside all morning and afternoon in our backyard enjoying the sun. For lunch, Madison and Katelyn asked if they could have a summer tea party in the yard with their twin sisters. How could a mother resist that?! I had to capture the precious moment. After my big girls asked A.&A. where they wanted to eat, Madison ate with Alyssa and Katelyn ate with Audrey.

The menu:
  • Cumber and cream cheese sandwiches
  • Watermelon slices
  • Reeses pieces (the best part!)
  • Lemonade

This is the girls recently built play structure. We got this for FREE from a family in our neighborhood who no longer wanted it. We were very fortunate to get it. Eric had his work cut out for him though--he had to take it apart in their yard, haul it home, level an area for it and dig up lots of shrubs/stumps, replace a few boards for the base and put a new roof on it. But...what da ya know..it's like new again! Thanks Dad--we love it!
